Writers' Ink at Caledon Public Library

Silk Again

Home, you beckon me with humble spirit

Black door with beveled glass

I crisscross your space with abandon

You kidnap my senses

Rendering me tender again

The kids are gone

Cannabis comes out of the closet

Connection flows with gratitude

Simpler times again

He fries me up an egg for supper and we pretend that it’s breakfast.

I sink into fresh sheets and surprise him till dawn

Pajamas in daytime and supper in bed

Crepes sprinkled with sugar

Freshly squeezed citrus!

Striving for uncomplicated

Like Ono and Lennon in Montreal

Your foundation and renovations

have hastened this frolic and I wear silk again
