Authors for Indies Day

Caledon independent bookstore Forster’s Book Garden and local authors join a nationwide celebration of independent bookstores  – to celebrate Canadian Authors for Indies Day on April 29th, authors Kate Hilton, Kerry Clare, Jennifer Robson, Karma Brown, Rebecca Rosenblum, Bob Desaultes, Peter G Reynolds and Mary Scattergood will volunteer as guest booksellers at Forster’s Book Garden at  266 Queen St. South in Bolton.

Authors for Indies Day is a nationwide event organized by authors to show appreciation for indie bookstores. Authors for Indies endeavours to increase customer traffic, showcase local writers and strengthen relationships between authors and booksellers.  Authors will volunteer as guest booksellers to greet customers, recommend books, and highlight the importance of supporting independent bookshops (‘indies’) in our communities. So far, more than 500 authors and 100 bookstores across the country have signed up to participate.

Kate Hilton, Kerry Clare, Jennifer Robson and Karma Brown are bestselling authors from Harper Collins Canada. Rebecca Rosenblum is author of “So Much Love” published by Penguin Random House Canada. Bob Desaultes has a book on wine. Peter G Reynolds is author of “The Lost Hallway” a lyrical picture book about where your lost things go and offering hope that they will be found. Mary Scattergood is a local artist who has penned and illustrated two books for youngsters (or those young at heart) who still see fairies in their gardens.

These authors will be at Forsters on the afternoon of Saturday April 29th.
