An Arctic Phantasy

quite-snow

I walked in a contented mesmerizing rhythm as my dog playfully crisscrossed fields filled with sunshine and cobalt skies; the first snow of the season. No cars, no people, no stress: it was a hidden winter oasis. Concentrating on my fur-trimmed boots and parka’s shadow, I began to daydream I was traversing the tundra with my favourite sled dog. Two parallel lines of canine prints, abruptly froze us in our tracks. Trembling, we slowly  retreated from this arctic phantasy, with a pair of scrawny grey wolves in our wake.
