Writers' Ink at Caledon Public Library

As Writers Let’s Not Agonize Nor Trivialize

To quote Jim Estill whom I met years ago when Synnex was small enough to host the CEOs of Waterloo-area start-ups to our monthly breakfast: “I don’t really want to spend more than 20 minutes a day on writing articles. And I spent no more than 20 minutes to write this article.”

For us to be effective each day in using social media like Facebook or LinkedIn or WordPress blogs like this, Jim’s maximum 20 minute a post process looks to make good sense. The unfortunate converse is that the temptation to which too many social media users easily succumb is to put a Post or Comment together in just 20 seconds or under. Too often social media inputs form only the flotsamand-jetsam of the Web, if not outright spam.
