An Afternoon of Remembrance

Gary Westlake has lived in Bolton for over 35 years. When he was a wee boy, he lost 3 young uncles, all within days of each other, in the ferocious fighting just after the Canadians landed on Juno Beach in June 1944 during WWII. As an adult, Gary recognized the sacrifice his uncles made and has spent countless hours and incredible energy to make sure his beloved family members were not lost to history. Please join us for this afternoon of remembrance. Gary will speak on his own family’s poignant story, the creating of Westlake Memorial Park in the Weston Road/Black Creek area and his most recent trip to the beaches of France. Light refreshments will be served.
