Writers' Ink at Caledon Public Library

I Am… Infinite Possibility

I am still free

though the dark clouds

of misperception

misdirection

missed-interpretation

imprison me

taunt me

I am still free

from another’s projection

inflection

interjection

ridiculous forms

invention

that try to do harm to me

that reveals no justice

about the life I’ve lead

the one experienced

the one I am living

What can I do about this?

stay silent

stay calm

stay in the moment

let it wash over me

or simply remember

that the dark clouds

that have brought this rain

that wets my dirtied skin

also feeds this mortal world

it not only contains negative notions

beyond my fragile ego’s ability to comprehend

my little self

but also offers me an electric and divine baptism

which awakens my dormant soul

rights and centres me

getting rid of the thoughts that don’t belong to me

In spite of me

I become clean

and my conscious notions

my “reality”

on what truth might actually be

is released and revealed

in this incarnation

this place

of infinite possibilities….
